Womens Plus Size Jeans

The secret to finding the perfect pair of women’s plus size jeans involves 3 things… Knowing what you feel comfortable in. Knowing what best flatters your plus size shape. And getting the right fit.

Knowing exactly what you body measurements are is crucial to you looking good in any plus size clothes – especially jeans.

Many women’s plus size clothing is not standard.  Depending upon which brand you are wearing, will determine what size you are for that brand.

It doesn’t matter what size you are.  All that matter is that you find a pair of plus size jeans that fit and flatter you – and that you feel great in!

We are going to take your  measurements in inches.  When measuring use two fingers underneath the tape measure (this allows you to build in the right level of comfort). The only case not to do this is when you are measuring your shoulders and rise.

Shoulder to Shoulder

Here you will measure from the largest point on one shoulder in a straight line to the largest point on the other shoulder.

Bust

Measure around the fullest part of your bust (right above the nipple area).  Start from your back and pull the tape measure forward to the fullest part of your bust.

Natural waist

Measure around the narrowest part of your torso – don’t hold your breath to pull in this part of your body.

Low Waist

Measure one inch down from the narrowest part of your torso.

High Hip

Measure your high hip which is about 4-5 inches down from your natural waist .

Low Hip

Measure 8-9 inches down from your natural waist – this is usually at the fullest part of your hips.
Ensure your legs are closed together when you measure this.

Thigh

Measure your thigh at the widest point .

Rise

Measure from your natural waist down to your crotch. Hold the tape a little loose and gently pull it through the legs up to the same level as your natural waist.

In-seam

Measure from your crotch to the inside of your ankle. Start from the ankle and up. This is best done with help from someone else.

Now you know measurements you will save so much time when shopping.  Whether this is in a physical store or online.

Online & Catalogues

Look closely at the sizing description and compare it with your own measurements. If your own measurements equal a size bigger or smaller than what you’re used to, buy it.

Take note if the plus size jeans you are buying have been pre-washed and therefore pre-shrunken.  Most jeans are, but it’s best to make sure.

In a Store

Always bring a measure tape with you when you go shopping. If something is not in the right size, then measure it.  See if your own measurements are bigger or smaller than the size you have picked up.

And then choose according to your own measurements! Taking your measurements will ensure you find the perfect pair of womens plus size jeans.
